Why won’t my school help me get my flute back?

I am a sophomore in high school. Just recently I received a partial scholarship to Florida State University because I am graduating early. The only catch is I have to be in band but I can’t because someone at my school stole my flute. This is the third time someone has done that and no one seems to care. I really can’t afford another flute(I’ve already had to pay for three!). What should I do?

Your personal property is not the responsibility of the school.

First of all, keep your instruments locked up when you’re not watching them directly. Second of all, it’s easy to get a cheap instrument on eBay. Not all of them are crappy quality…I’ve gotten a marching flute ($200), a marching piccolo (never been played, $400), and a brand new concert piccolo (grenadilla wood, $900) all from eBay. I am exceedingly happy with all of them. I really don’t know how you’ve gotten by with someone stealing your instruments; if I was under the impression that one of my instruments was missing, my life would be over.
