It seems to me to be a matter of reverse snobbery. I see it all the time. It is like we have raised a nation of Archie Bunkers. They seem to look down on educated people so they can feel better about not being smart enough to get a scholarship. It is described in an article written by Dr. Lawrence Britt entitled, “The fourteen defining characteristics of fascism” about Nazi Germany. It is the 11th characteristic defined. The first thing fascists want you to do is be happy with living and being below average. In a country that normally votes for some guy they want to have a beer with, instead of someone intelligent enough to be a successful businessman, it seems we can expect the less intelligent to scoff at intellect and education.

When your lazy, have no ambitions, don’t feel like applying yourself, you’ve become stupid, and/or you want to follow your failure friends you will say almost anything to justify what you are doing even if it’s simply “I don’t care what you think about me.” These are the excuses underachievers come up with when they’re in the 12th grade and realize that they’ve played around so much and wasted so much time that they’ll most likely never see college. They make their lifestyle seem appealing when most of them know its a terrible shame and at least half of them are depressed and don’t know it.
Misery loves company so they put down the people who can become more hoping that they will fail so they can either scoff at them or comfort them so they can get used to a failing lifestyle. It’s sad and pathetic but it is the truth, most people who fail either plan too late or don’t plan at all and when this happens they only seek to watch others fall and will do anything underhanded to make this happen. They will rob, cheat and kill to get ahead and to “get even” when the whole problem started with them to begin with.
Yeah, I think its a waste of childhood too. I think we should only get basic education like, preschool through 4rth grade. We’ll most likely forget what we learn after that. Highschool is a b*tch. and College is so @#$%^) expensive!
