My financial aid was just posted and I noticed that I am not getting that same grant I got this school year for next year. I’m really stressing out because it made up a big chunk of the money I was receiving in grants and scholarships. Last year my EFC was a little over 8000 and for the 2007-2008 year it went up to over 14000. My income did increase…I made 17,000 but only because I had graduated high school early in January of this year and worked a ton of over time until September. Since I dont have that time anymore my income will not be near as much this year. I’m attending a private school whos expected cost is about 34,000! Since my EFC is that high….is that why I am not getting any grants at all??

It could either be your income increase or your hours.
A 6000 difference in EFC could mean others got your grants (those with EFCs of 8000ish, for example.)
If you have the equivalent of 135 MAP paid hours or more, you are no longer eligible.
The only way to be sure is to contact your financial aid office and ask.
