Studying In The U.s From Aus??
Hi, i would love to study a semester at an University in America. My University that i attend now in Australia encourages doing a semester abroad with a scholarship. I’ve been looking at Universities in California and was wondering which ones would be the best for: Engineering, Outgoing Social life and parties. Are any of these Universities close to the beach and any info on accomadation would be great, such as costs and distance from everything? When is the best time of the year to go over there?
Im open to other Univerisity suggestion outside California, such as New York, it seems like an interesting city and i wouldnt mind experiencing my time there. Is it possible for International Students to get part time work?

Honestly, if you want to experience the “real” America, stay away from NY and California. They are great places, but they are a far reach from the rest of the American society (plus, the cost of living in those areas is extremely expensive).
There are some great schools in the US that have the social and educational scene you may like. U of Wisconsin-Madison, U of Texas-Austin, Ohio State University, U of Florida are great schools that consistently rank amongst the best “party schools” in the country. Expand your horizons and you will not regret it. Good luck.
