Should I Reapply To The College That Waitlisted Me? Where My Ex Is?

In my senior year of high school, my boyfriend and I happened to apply to one college that was the top choice for both of us, NOT specifically because we wanted to stay together. He got accepted, and I got waitlisted. I removed myself from the waitlist because I had been planning to defer college for a year and go to Europe. I ended up deferring at another school I’d applied to that had offered me a pretty good scholarship deal. Still in love, we agreed to break up, and he went to school and I went off to Germany. Plans changed while I was there, and I’m coming back after only six months. My other friends are telling me that instead of going to the school that I deferred at, I should try again for my top choice, and that I’m more likely to get in this time around with my exciting world experience. But I’m worried that this will make it look like I’m just chasing my ex. Note: the first school is more “academically challenging” that the second, and harder to get into. Ideas?

Don’t even worry about your ex. It is your education… yes, money is important as another person mentioned… but it is not the only thing. You need to consider what is more convenient and look PAST college to see which college is best for your particular career choice. If that happens to make you more money , congrats : )
