I’m white, though probably poorer than many of my non-white classmates, so it is hard to find scholarships. My parents won’t help me with college-38000 dollars a year. My grades aren’t very good-my mistake, I am working on them. I don’t really have any special talents. I am a Psych and film major, minor in Spanish. I want to study abroad in Chile and/or Australia. Does anyone know of scholarships for me? Thank you!

The best chances you have for scholarships are always with the school you are attending. Those places like fastweb that everyone talks about are okay… but I often wonder how many thousands and thousands of kids apply for one. Surely a school costing 38K a year would have a limited scholarship applicant pool and a huge endowment fund. Get to know the financial aid dept and the scholarship office (if you have one) really well. Make it a point to apply for at least 10 scholarships a week or so.
Scholarships aren’t going to find you, you have to find them… esp Psy major ones… ps: psychology majors are a poor paying field. Please don’t graduate from that school with a debt over 30K so so. Anything more and you won’t be able to afford the loans after you graduate. (never borrow more than what you would expect to earn your first year out of college) contrary to popular belief employers don’t pay you more because you went to a private college.
