I don’t know about UK but in U.S you have to finish pre-medicine course before applying to medical school. You cannot apply from high school.
- For pre-medicine course, you apply to any college or university in U.S (undergraduate school), majoring in biology or chemistry or biochem or microbiology…
- At the end of your junior year (undergraduate school) take MCAT (Medical School Admission Test)
- At your senior year, apply for medical school
+ the requirements for medical school in U.S is extremely high, I don’t major in medicine, but I know that my school require G.P.A 3.5 (over 90% grades) for being admitted + high MCAT test score.
medical schools usually don’t offer scholarships (even for U.S citizens), but loan (this understandable because when you finish medical school, you will have a bright future). Remember $1 loan = $2-3 for paying back. For example, if you loan $200, 000 for 4 years in medical school, you will have to pay $400, 000-$600,000 when graduation some years.
——- because of these requirements, about 75% students who first apply for pre-medicine have to change their major, in order words about in 100 students intend to apply for medical school, 75 have to give up—-
