How can I find scholarships for nursing students?

I am going to be a junior year nursing student this fall and I know there are scholarships out there for nursing students, but I don’t know where to look! You hear all the time that some places just “give money away” they just need people to apply. Where are these places?? Can anyone help?? Thanks.

I would visit the library of the school you’re thinking of going to, they usually have a “Financial Aid Research” area where scholarship info is stored.

Also, go to the financial aid department of the school- they often have great help.

Honestly, all of that “free scholarship money” IS out there, however, to qualify for it, you often have to be this one particular person- like the son of a Vietnam Verteran, who died of lung cancer and was African American, blah, blah, blah. I’m not saying it’s not worth looking into. However, a lot of this money is very hard to get your hands on. Believe me, I spent 7 years in college and never got any substantial scholarship $$. The best way to get scholarship $$ is to do well in your major and try to get your school’s scholarships, which can be thousands of dollars. Whatever you do, don’t focus too much on this, just take loans if you have to, but get your education while you’re still young!

    Hope this helps!

There are many places to get scholarship. It depends on where you are at in your nursing program…are you in a program yet? Do you have kids? Are you certified for anything yet? You can go to your towns workforce center and apply for a program called WIA and depending on your money situation and what not they will help…I was approved and they are paying for my whole year on LVN training. You can also apply for scholarships online at fastweb.com
