do you get the same education and opportunities with online college classes?

I want to take the Vet Tech program through Penn Foster, but my mother dosen’t want me to because she doesn’t think I will get hired by anyone if I were to have an online education. I have been working with small and large animals for 9 years, and I am 100% sure this is the career for me, I want it more than anything.

what do you think?

If you were taking online classes through a traditional university or college, you might not get quite the same education, but your opportunities would be at least close to the same as they would be if you took in-person classes. With the for-profit schools like Penn-Foster, though, there is still a lot of skepticism about what you can learn that way and how well they teach them, and your mother may be right. There is nothing wrong with the career, but you might want to look for another way to learn it. You certainly can’t learn as much about working with animals online as you can by working with them directly.
