College Questions (where To Go, What To Major, Etc)?

Ok, I’m already going to an art school (like the school in Fame) and my specialty is creative writing. I’m really liking writing right now, and I’m really good at it, but I havent really tried anything else so I’d like to go to a college where I dont have to immediately state my major and could choose between a few different arts. I dont want to have a major college that I want to go to, because I’m afraid that if I pick one, I’ll be disappointed if I dont get in. Rather, I’m going to apply to a bunch of schools and check out all of the schools I’ve been accepted to. I think I’m going to apply to NYU, UCSB (I know its been told to be a party school, but I can get a scholarship on their waterski team and the campus is really pretty), Yale, Columbia… ?? I need a few others. Any ideas? Also, I know that University of Iowa has a good writing program, but I really dont want to go to school in Iowa. Haha.
So, do you think that those schools are ok? BTW- this isnt about cost. Cost really isnt an issue for where I go to school. Oh, and also, I’m going to go on independent study for a semester-a year in Germany because I can go to school there for free. Would those schools allow that? I think most schools do, but I’m not sure. So, if you have any ideas for schools to add or take off my list? I dont really have a dream school, so you wont hurt my feelings if you tell me to take one off. Haha.
Oh, and one other thing that has always interested me is producing, like, movie and tv producing. What would you major in in college to get a job like that? Sorry, I know thats a lot of Qs, but I need answers!! Haha.
Thanks!! :)

If your mother and grandma were in the same sorority, be sure that it has a chapter on your campus as you will certainly get in as a double legacy!
Don’t go to Iowa. It’s so easy to get admitted that they have to flunk about half the entering class as there is not enough room in the upper classes. Also, the writing program does not seem to still have the great reputation that it used to have.
If you can into UCLA or USC and they have the right sorority chapter, I think you would enjoy them, but the academics are very difficult, just like at Columbia and Yale. UCLA and USC are also tops for film and TV producing. You major in some aspect of film. NYU is the other of the top three in this field.
Good luck. Once you are in a four-year university, you need to settle down and concentrate. You will need to take academics very seriously if you want to be able to stay there.
