I just recently got accepted into the nursing program at Ivy Tech in Indianapolis. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good nursing scholarships or scholarships for single moms? I did an internet search for them and of course a million come up but I want some legit websites, not a bunch of spam sites that will clog up my inbox.
Please let me know of any that seemed to work for you

If you’re considering nursing you should scour all possible membership opportunities in professional organizations that support nursing. Google search for this. For example, www.nursingworld.org is the American Nurses Association. Find out what it takes to become a member (most have reduced or free memberships for students) and then scour all these websites for scholarships. A great website to look up any/all organizations and associations is www.scholarly-societies.org.
You mentioned that you receive too much “junk” when you search for scholarships. I would argue that this is because your search criteria is not specific enough. Eventually, if you get to the nitty gritty of what you’re looking for, there should be good results, and you should NEVER have to pay anyone any money!
For example, consider using a boolean search such as:
“nursing and scholarship and application and deadline and 2009 and IN and mother and .doc and .pdf.”

There are nursing scholarships. Here in Florida my brother-in-law is getting everything paid for. He just had to agree to work at the small hospital down the road for at least 2 years after graduating.
Check out the links below. You should be able to find a grant/scholarship or at least be directed to some.
Also, I am assuming that you are a mom and probably did not just graduate, so you may qualify for some non-traditional student scholarships too. And, if you meet financial requirements, you may get some government grant money also.
Good luck!
